KINGSTON, JAMAICA
Daryl Vaz, Member of Parliament for Portland Western, has launched a fiery attack on the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP), accusing them of operating with “badmind” motives, no policies, and no performance. Speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) meeting in Trelawny South, Vaz urged voters to “stick with the evil they know” as Jamaica heads toward general elections.
⚠️ Ongoing Political War of Words
“I’m going to bun out the badmind,” declared Vaz, vowing to travel across the island to call out what he views as the PNP’s toxic political behavior. Flanked by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, he applauded Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert as an exemplary MP who has “survived every storm” with integrity.
🗣️ PNP Members Called Out by Name
Vaz didn’t hold back. He accused top PNP figures of “seat hopping” after electoral losses. Among those called out were Peter Bunting, Damion Crawford, and Ian Hayles — each criticized for allegedly abandoning their constituents in search of easier victories. “You know the difference between them and us?” Vaz asked. “Serve the people and they will serve you.”
🕯️ Loyalty vs. Political Opportunism
In sharp contrast, Vaz hailed himself and Dalrymple-Philibert for remaining loyal to their original constituencies, arguing that true representation means staying put and fighting for your people. “Respect the people, and they will respect you,” he said to roaring applause.
📌 The Final Blow
“Bun them out. Dem nuh good,” Vaz said, labeling the PNP as self-serving and obsessed with tearing others down instead of building Jamaica up. “They have no policies. They have no performance. All they do is badmind the prime minister and anyone doing good work.”
